BALANCED MIND
IN A BALANCED BODY
ABOUT
Our studio is heated with an underfloor water-based system, maintaining a gentle, natural warmth between 26-29°C. This heating method is more subtle and supportive than artificial electric or gas options, creating an inviting atmosphere that enhances your practice without overwhelming you.
What Is Warm Yoga at Our Studio?
Our warm classes combine the grounding qualities of 'Hatha' yoga with the fluidity of 'Flow' yoga for a balanced experience.
In Hatha, poses are typically held in a static position for up to 60 seconds, allowing time to refine alignment and cultivate stability. Flow yoga, on the other hand, incorporates shorter holds and emphasizes graceful transitions, creating a continuous, rhythmic movement between poses.
Unlike traditional Bikram-style classes, we don’t follow a set sequence. Instead, each class offers something fresh, with poses and sequences tailored to the teacher’s unique style and focus, bringing variety to each session.
A Studio for All Abilities
Our classes are open to everyone, regardless of experience level. We encourage you to work with the body you have, embracing where you are in your yoga journey. Our warm classes provide a welcoming and supportive environment to help you feel both challenged and nurtured, making each practice accessible, enjoyable, and fulfilling.
You can learn new things at any time in your life if you're willing to be a beginner. If you actually learn to like being a beginner, the whole world opens up to you.
ABOUT OUR CLASSES
WARM YOGA
Classical yoga postures in a flowing sequence for all ability levels in our Warm Yoga studio—heated to a comfortable 25-30 degrees.
These classes welcome everyone. Just come in with a smile and do your best with the body you have. In yoga, there are no beginners, only those who are unaware of what to do. Trust the process, and you’ll find the magic follows.
Our teachers—Laura, Alli, Emma, and Lyn—are all highly skilled and passionately dedicated to yoga, which is why we win awards. Rest assured, you couldn’t be in safer, more nurturing hands. Say hello when you walk in, and you might not want to say goodbye!
Each class is unique in structure. Some may begin seated, others standing, and while the poses are generally similar, the sequence may vary depending on the teacher’s focus. Trust us, smile, and enjoy the journey! 😊
WARM YOGA & MEDITATION
Expertly guided by Laura and Lyn, these classes offer a well-rounded experience that combines invigorating movement with deep relaxation. The session begins with a flow-style sequence designed to energize and awaken the body, promoting strength, flexibility, and a heightened sense of vitality. As you move mindfully through each pose, you'll feel your energy building, preparing you for the peaceful transition to follow.
In the second half of the class, Laura and Lyn guide you into a soothing meditation, allowing you to let go of physical tension and quiet the mind. This gentle descent into stillness brings balance to the practice, offering a space to reconnect with your inner calm and cultivate mindfulness.
Perfect for those seeking both movement and meditation, this class leaves you feeling refreshed, centered, and at peace—addressing body, mind, and soul in one harmonious session.
YIN YOGA
Zahir’s Yin Yoga classes return yoga to its ancient roots, embracing a practice where, for centuries, most poses were seated or lying down, focusing deeply on breath and inner awareness. This approach invites students to journey inward, fostering introspection and reconnecting with yoga’s original purpose—finding stillness, presence, and self-discovery.
Unlike typical Yin classes that often incorporate Chinese philosophy, Zahir embraces a perspective grounded in the traditions of the Indian subcontinent. The meditative techniques and the 4-2-6 breathing exercise used in class draw inspiration from the earliest teachings of Shiva, the first yogi, and his wife Parvati, his first student. These elements provide a uniquely authentic experience that respects the origins of the practice.
Soft, classical music from the Indian subcontinent—tabla, drums, and strings—creates an immersive atmosphere distinct from other yoga classes. Each pose is held for 3 to 6 minutes, offering ample time to fully settle into each position and explore the breath, inviting students to find stillness within the stretch.
As Zahir says, “If death is the absence of oxygen, then life is its presence.” With a deep emphasis on breathwork, this class will leave you feeling oxygen-rich and truly alive.
WARM 'HATHA' YOGA
This class with Zahir offers a different vibe from a typical flow style class, where each pose flows smoothly into the next. Instead, this class takes a more intentional, slower pace. Here, we focus on one pose at a time (Zahir tends to pick one pose each week and make it workshop-style), holding each for longer to truly explore it. You’ll get the chance to try some unique poses, including arm balances (think Peacock 🦚) and even handstands 🤸🏾😰—but don’t worry, you don’t need to be a yoga master to join in!
This is by no means an advanced class—everyone, regardless of experience, is welcome. All you need is the right attitude, a sense of humor, and a bit of curiosity. Don’t worry if you can’t do a handstand yet! We break it down step by step, building on your progress each week, so you'll gain confidence, strength, and the technique needed to make it happen. It's a work in progress.
The sequence remains fairly consistent each week, giving you the chance to feel more comfortable and find your rhythm as you go. Ultimately, this class is about tapping into your own potential. And if you ask Zahir, that’s the essence of real yoga 👳🏾♂️
