How to do - Warrior 1 (Vīrabhadrāsana I)
Continuing from my last blog on Warrior 2, here’s a look at Warrior 1—this time from my perspective, emphasizing biomechanics rather than adhering strictly to a particular school of yoga. As I’ve said before, if your current Warrior 1 feels good and brings a smile, you’re already winning—there’s no need to change a thing. However, if this pose tends to irritate your lower back or feels like it could use some refinement, this video is worth a watch.
I want to stress that there’s no universally "right" or "wrong" way to do Warrior 1. Actually, that’s not entirely true. The wrong way is to force yourself into a version of the pose that you feel you "should" be doing. The right way? It’s the one that feels good for you and allows you to keep practicing—safely and sustainably—well into your 80s.
Unlike the Warrior 2 video, this video is not via youtube and is directly uploaded onto the website so no ads :)
